Estherville – Funeral services for Margaret Josephine Weisman, 84, of Estherville will be held today, Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at St .Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will follow services at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. A Parish Vigil Service was held at 7:30 p.m.
Margaret was born on Oct. 24, 1916 in Bristol, S.D., the daughter of Joseph Gerhardt and Margaret Cogne (Cox) Marx.
She received here education in the Bristol Schools, graduating from Bristol High School. She then attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, S.D. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Margaret was a teacher in four school districts and served as school superintendent in Ashton, S.D.
She was united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1945 to Elton J. Weisman in Redfield, S.D. The couple moved to Estherville in 1987 to be closer to their son.
Margaret enjoyed cooking, gardening, music and was active in church activities. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elton of Estherville; two sons, Stephen Weisman and wife Darial of Estherville and Edward Weisman of Estherville; two grandchildren, Stephanie Wheatley and husband Ryan and Curt Weisman and fiancée Minde Colelman of Armstrong; one great-grandchild, Hunter Wheatley of Estherville.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Dennis and Larry.
