Donna Lynch
Estherville – Funeral services for Donna J. [Jean] Lynch, 77, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with a 7:30 p.m. vigil service at the funeral home.

Donna was born on Feb. 13, 1925 in Burlington, the daughter of Francis J. and Agnes H. (Lattimer) Foley. She graduated from Seneca Consolidated High School.

On Jan. 28, 1946, Donna was united in marriage to Wayne Lynch in Bancroft. After their marriage the couple made their home in Seneca where they were engaged in farming.

Later the family moved to Estherville and Donna was employed at Holy Family Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department for twenty years. She retired from the hospital in 1990.

She enjoyed quilting as a hobby.

Donna was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Rosewood Manor Auxiliary.

Donna is survived by her children, Eileen Geitzenauer and her husband, John of Forest City; Tom Lynch and his wife, Marianne of Estherville; Don Lynch and his wife Janel of Nederland, Texas; daughter-in-law Diane Lynch of Mankato, Minn.; Sue McCleish and her husband, Darrell of Waukee; Barb Alig and her husband, Dave of Estherville; Bev McBreen and her husband, Dave of Spirit Lake; Julie Hempstead and her husband, Mark of Windom, Minn.; Laurie Schmaus and her husband, John of Estherville; Molly Lynch of Denver, Colo.; nineteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Willard (Marilyn) Thompson of Algona and Mrs. Bob (Lorraine) Fischer of Granville.

She has been preceded in death by her husband, Wayne who died in 1990; one son, Dick who died in 1992; her parents and three brothers, Robert, James and Jerry. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 21, 2002)
