Estherville – Services for Wayne Lynch, 63, will be held Tuesday, May 1, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Topf officiating. Interment will be in Estherville’s East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. There will also be a one hour visitation prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Lynch died Saturday [April 28 1990] at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.Wayne F. Lynch was born August 2, 1926 in rural Fenton to Daniel and Laura Sandschulte Lynch. He received his education and graduated from Seneca High School in 1943. Wayne was united in marriage to Donna Jean Foley on January 28, 1946 at Bancroft. He farmed in rural Fenton for twenty-five years before being appointed Emmet County Assessor in 1968. He served as Past President of the Iowa State Association of Assessors; was elected a member of the Executive Board of the International Association of Assessing Officers, and was a member of the North Central Region of Assessing Officers. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Donna; three sons: Tim of Richardson, Tex., Don of Nederland, Tex. and Dick of Adrian, Minn.; seven daughters: Mrs. John (Eileen) Geitzenauer of Forest City, Mrs. Darrell (Sue) McCleish of Waukee, Mrs. Dave (Barbara) Alig of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Mark (Julie) Hempstead of Windom, Minn., Mrs. John (Laurie) Schmaus of Estherville, and Molly Lynch of West Des Moines; five brothers: Robert of Fenton, Dennis of Bancroft, Paul of Richland, Jim of Redfield, and Dan of Chicago, Ill., and eighteen grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Helen, Betty and Kathleen; and a brother, John. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 30, 1990)
