Bonnie Higgins
Estherville – Services for Bonnie A. Higgins, 83, of Estherville, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Friday Oct. 28, 1994 at Holy Family Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Legion of Mary Rosary at 4 p.m. and Parish vigil Service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 8, 1911 in Green County, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Alice (Lowe) Stapleton. She attended country school in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, near Mason City. On Aug. 13, 1930 she was united in marriage with Carl C. Higgins at Jackson, Minn. She lived in Estherville and Spirit Lake area for many years. She has lived at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home the past two years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughter: Betty Janssen, Dunnell, Minn., Mrs. Russell (Jean) Planting, Estherville; Mrs. Mike (Carla) Long, Colorado Springs; Lois Michelson and Mrs. Vern (Tish) Scott of Spirit Lake; Mary Thelen, Colorado Springs, Colo., Shelly Harsin, Pocahontas; sons: Harold “Pete” of Spirit Lake; Kenny of Colorado Springs, Michael and William of Estherville; Jerry of Custer, S.D. and Glen of Plymouth, Minn.; 40 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters: Geneva Hoveland, Mason City and Naomi Cooper, Jay, Okla.
