L. Natterstad, Retired Farmer, Dies at 95
Lewis Natterstad, 95, retired farmer, died today at 5:25 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital, where he had been a patient since Oct. 10. His death was attributed to infirmities of advanced age.

He was born Nov. 2, 1871, at Morris, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Natterstad and received his education in the Morris schools.

Mr. Natterstad was married Feb. 16, 1899, to Helen Hoganson at Loda, Ill. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Natterstad farmed near Paxton, Ill., until February, 1922, when they moved to Emmet County. Mr. and Mrs. Natterstad farmed in this area until their retirement in 1940. At that time they moved into Estherville. For the past few years Mr. Natterstad had lived at the Good Samaritan Center.

He is survived by three sons, Ole and Russell, both of Estherville; Lloyd of Oxnard, Calif.; eight grandchildren; also one brother, Stephen Natterstad of Paxton, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Hogan; one daughter; his parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy M. Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Casket bearers will be Guy Tibbetts, John Natterstad, John O’Connor, John Weaver, Archie Sunde and Norman Christensen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 27, 1967)
