James Mustard Services Tuesday
Sylvester James (Jim) Mustard, 73, Estherville, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Sunday [August 19, 1973]. He had been a resident of Balmer Nursing Home.

Mr. Mustard was born April 13, 1900, at Whitney County, Ind., to Charles and Loucindy Mustard. He was educated in Indiana. In 1921 he married Katie Munden who passed away. On Jan. 27, 1944, in Jackson, Minn., he married Nellie Davis.

Mr. Mustard came to this area with his family as a young boy and has farmed here until his retirement in 1956 from ill health.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie; six sons, Harold of Estherville, James of San Diego, Calif., Melvin of Kankakee, Ill., Donald of Gruver, Jack and Steven of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Darlene) Bendixen, Estherville; two step-children, Roger Davis, Centerville, Tenn., and Donald Davis, Des Moines; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, George, Kennon, Wis., and Eldie, Estherville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Thorpe, Wis.

Mr. Mustard was preceded in death by his parents, one wife, two brothers and three grandchildren.

Service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Reese-Henry Funeral Home with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
