Funeral services for Dr. Sigward M. Sevatson, prominent chiropractor in Wallingford, Estherville and Spirit Lake for 50 years, were held July 9 at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Quitno officiating. He died July 6 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. Interment was in Eastside Cemetery, Estherville.He is survived by his wife, Hazel, his daughter, Mrs. Jim (Trudy) Carlton of Vandenberg, Calif. and his son Mervin of Wallingford.
Dr. Sevatson was born April 4, 1900 to Martin and Josephine Sevatson at Wallingford. He graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1926. He was united marriage to Hazel Moore Aug. 25, 1943. Dr. Sevatson was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was president of the congregation when the new structure was built in 1968.
Pallbearers were Chester Sjobert, Robert Pulver, Goodwin Thoreson, Kennet McCoombs, Dale Huffaker and R.J. Mann. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, July 15, 1976)
