Death at 71 for Munden
Benjamin Munden, 71, of Estherville died early Sunday morning at the Veterans Hospita in Sioux Falls, S.D.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church at Estherville, Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Benjamin Albert Munden was born April 8, 1895, at Keetsville, Mo. His parents were John and Maggie Munden.
March 7, 1928 he was married to Lizzie Onken at Spirit Lake. The couple farmed in the Windom, Minn., area before moving to Estherville in 1933.
Surviving are his wife, Lizzie; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Hocking of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Furne of Stockton, and Katherine Munden of Estherville; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Norma Stewart of Estherville.
A World War I veteran, Mr. Munden will have military rites at the cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home from Tuesday until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 28, 1966)
