Lewis C. Munden
Lewis C. Munden, former Terril resident, passed away Saturday [February 20, 1960] morning at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville following six weeks of illness.

Mr. Munden was born Jan. 5, 1893 in Andrew county, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Munden, and received his education in the Andrew county schools. He worked as a laborer and moved to Emmetsburg from Missouri in 1915 and to Emmet county in 1933. After a previous marriage, Mr. Munden married Della Cooper May 8, 1959 and has made his home in Estherville since then. The Mundens moved to Terril in 1948 and lived here for about 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Della, three sons, George Munden, Emmetsburg, Duane, who is with the United States Navy in California; Edward, from Hutchinson, Minn.; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Enright of Dickson, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Ann Jensen of Tama; Lucille of Webster City; and Sharon and Betty both of Gruver and eight grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ben of Estherville and Grant of Emmetsburg, and one sister Mrs. Norma Stewart of Estherville. Mr. Munden was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, five brothers and two sisters.

Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Calvary Gospel Assembly Church with the Rev. Walter Pedersen officiating. Burial was in East Side cemetery in Estherville. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, February 25, 1960)
