John William Munden
John William Munden, age 72 years, seven months, 13 days, died Monday, July 3, 1939, about 6 p.m. He had been in declining health for several years and was taken to the Coleman hospital six days before he died.

Mr. Munden was the son of Benjamin and Elvia Munden and was born near Afton, Iowa, Nov. 20, 1866. He was married to Maggie Blake near Engleville, Mo., July 3, 1890. To this union, 10 children were born, five dying in infancy and Mrs. Katie Mustard passing on in May, 1938.

Mrs. Munden and four children survive, Grant Harrison, Lewis Cleveland and Benjamin Albert, all of Estherville and one daughter, Mary Norma Stewart of Superior, Ia., and 18 grandchildren.

He has one brother living at Davis City, Iowa.

He was a farmer until coming to Estherville 14 years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Free Methodist church Wednesday at 3 p.m. under the direction of Rev. E.E. Taylor, pastor of the church.

Burial was made in East Side Cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 6, 1939)
