Albert Schnapp Killed in France From Explosive

Was One of Estherville's Volunteers to Fight for Democracy
The report two weeks ago of the death of Albert Schnapp was confirmed last week through his wife who lives in California. She had received official notice from the government that he had been killed in an explosion October 17th.
Deceased was an Estherville boy, being assistant cashier of the Estherville State Bank when he volunteered his services to Uncle Sam in May, 1917.He went with that contigent to Fort Logan, Colorado, and from there was soon trasferred to Fort McArthur, California, where he remained with the rest of the Estherville boys until August, 1918, when he went to France with his company. He was in the artillery department of the army. He was a splendid specimen of young manhood, a young man with a promising future and one greatly beloved by all of his acquaintances.
