Woodling Rites Set for Monday
Last rites for Harold Woodling, 65, former Estherville resident, are to be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, the Rev. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Mr. Woodling’s death occurred Tuesday in a Seattle, Wash. hospital where he had been taken after suffering a heart attack two weeks ago.Mr. Woodling and his wife, the former Bernice Bormann of Estherville, moved to Seattle from Estherville in 1941. Prior to that time he had operated the Woodling Garage here. In Seattle he worked as a salesman for the West Seattle Rambler Auto Agency.
Born Jan 1, 1896 in Sac City he was the son of James and Laura Woodling. He received his education in the Sac City area.
Mr. Woodling was married to Bernice Bormann on July 12, 1922 in Estherville. He was a member of the local American Legion Post.
He is survived by his widow and one sister, Mrs. Floyd (Ethel) Belt of Storm Lake.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o’clock at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home and friends may call there until time of services tomorrow.
Pallbearers are to be Leon Kraft, Nolan Boggess, Claude Randolph, Thomas Kinsella, Ed Sorum and Emanuel Stavros.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 9, 1961)
