Mrs. Miller Dies at 92
Mrs. George (Mary) Miler, 92, resident of Estherville since 1917, died today at 7:50 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Her death was attributed to complications of advanced age. She had been ill for the past five years.Born Jan. 3, 1873, in New York City, Mary Catherine Fitzpatrick was the daughter of Peter and Catherine Fitzpatrick.
As a child she moved with her parents to Grundy County, Iowa, and received her education there.
In 1895 she moved to Spirit Lake. She was married there June 3, 1896 to George Miller. Mrs. Miller was a dressmaker in Waterloo and Spirit Lake.
She and Mr. Miller moved to Estherville Dec. 4, 1917.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, St. Catherine’s circle, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Service Star Legion.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. W.G. (Kathleen) Mellwraith [McIlwraith], one son, Joe L. Miller, both of Estherville; one grandson, Fred L. Miller, of Baunholder, Germany; two granddaughters, Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Murray and Becky Miller, both of Estherville; and one great-grandchild, Jacqueline Sue Murray of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Pierre and George, her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller are to be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Saturday until time of services.
Rosary will be said tonight at 8 o’clock at the funeral home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 3, 1965)
