Final Rites on Monday
Funeral services for Celia I. Markley, 78, who died Friday [January 13, 1967] at Holy Family Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s church, Rev. James Fangman officiating.Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Celia Ash was born March 26, 1888 [per gravestone & census records, 1893], at Ellsworth, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ash. She received her education at Estherville, where she moved with her parents as a young girl.
She was married to Earl Markley who, with her parents, one sister, and a number of brothers, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Markley was employed at the P.G. Gray plant for 20 years and worked at the Hotel Gardston and at several Estherville cafes.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s church.
She had been in failing health for a number of years.
Pallbearers will be Charles McLane, Charles Hickey, Floyd Given, Edward Musslegren, Lester Morris and Lowel Burg. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 14, 1967)
