Kirchner Rites to Be Saturday
Funeral services for Edward Kirchner, 82, of Estherville will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Fuhrman Funeral Home, the Rev. James Fangman officiating.After being hospitalized since Dec. 30, Edward Raymond Kirchner died yesterday died yesterday at 3 p.m. in Holy Family Hospital of complications due to his advanced age.
Born Jan. 1, 1882, in La Salle County, Ill., the son of Henry and Christina Kirchner, he received his education in the La Salle county schools. When he was a young man he came to Emmet county.
On Dec. 18, 1907, he married Victoria Krebs in Estherville. He was engaged in farming in this area until he retired in 1941 and moved to Estherville.
Mr. Kirchner was preceded in death by his wife who died Oct. 1, 1940, one brother and three sisters. Surviving are two sons, Roy of Estherville and Elmer of Newport News, Va., one daughter, Mrs. Mae Schaper of Estherville, 13 grandchildren, and one brother, George, of Estherville.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lamack, August Schaper, Arthur Schultz, Ernest Hyer, Henry J. Neppl, all of Estherville and Elmer Chambers of Alpha, Minn.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home any time on Friday until time of services Saturday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1964)
