Services for Gus Andrew Ramsey, 78, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Neal Armstrong of Gruver Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died Friday Jan 12, 1990 at Good Samaritan Center.

He was born Feb 11, 1911 at Grand Ridge, Ill., the son of James and Rose (Andrews) Ramsey. He moved with his family to the Gruver area in 1913 and attended country school and graduated from Gruver High School. On Jan 15, 1937 he was united in marriage with Frances Higgins at Estherville. After marriage the couple farmed in the Gruver area most of their life. He moved to the nursing home in October, 1988. He was a member of Gruver Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Frances who died on Jan 13, 1990; two sons James Ramsey and Joe Higgins, Estherville; two daughters; Mrs. Magnus (Margaret) Anderson, Armstrong and Jo Ann Ramsey, Kansas City, Kans; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother Frank Ramsey, Estherville and one sister Isabelle Ramsey, Gruver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 16, 1990)
