Tina (Valentina) Maria Aboga-a, the daughter of Furtinato and Blandina (Candido) Aboga-a, was born February 14, 1945, in Buena Vista, Eastern Samar, Philippines. She departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2006, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 61.

She grew up and attended school in the Philippines.

On March 6, 1969, Tina was united in marriage to Ted Strain in Alongapo, Philippines. After their marriage the couple moved to the United States to make their home. In her leisure time Tina enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville.

Grateful for having shared Tina's life are her husband, Ted of Estherville; her children, Twila Carstens and her husband, Chris of Estherville; Robert Graham and his wife, Noreen of Federal Way, Washington; Trudy Ahrens and her husband, Tim of Estherville; ten grandchildren, Maria, Steven, Kevin, Tristan, Travis, Garrick, Jared, Laura, Isaiah, Kaleb; brothers and sisters, Honorato, Pablito, Victorio, Macario, Justina, Conchita, Bienvenita and their children; brother-in-law, Jerry Strain and his wife Kathy of Merrill, Iowa, and their children JeriKay, Glen, Jim and their families.

Preceding Tina in death were her parents.
