Mrs. Rachel Sterling Dies
Requiem high mass for Mrs. Rachel Sterling who died yesterday at Holy Family Hospital will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Saint Patrick’s church. Rosary will be aid tonight at 9 o’clock in the Sternborg Funeral home. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Sterling was 79, the youngest of 13 children. She was born on May 24, 1868, in Ireland and came to this country in 1924 (?), living in Spring Valley, Ill. and later at Graettinger. She moved to Estherville six years [1938 per newspaper article] ago. Death came yesterday as result of a stroke. She had been hospitalized since last Tuesday and had been in failing health for some time. Only near survivor is her son James Sterling with whom she made her home at 1108 Fifth Avenue N.
