Estherville – Funeral services for Joseph Paul, 84, Castro Valley, Calif., formerly of the Estherville area, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father A.O. Grendler officiating and burial at the church cemetery.

Mr. Paul was born April 15, 1891 and was married to Margaret Wratten June 25, 1912 in Estherville. He was an engineer on the Rock Island Railroad and lived in Estherville until his retirement in 1957, when he moved to Mesa, Ariz., then to Castro Valley. He had been a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. His wife died in 1972.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Isabel) Magorno, Castro Valley, Calif.; one son, DeVere Paul, Englewood, Calif.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after noon on Wednesday. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 9, 1975)
