Ted Mathison Rites Tuesday
Theodore (Ted) Mathison, 70, Estherville, died at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Friday, Aug. 18, 1972.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Robert Karl Miller officiating. Music will be provided by Louis Obye, soloist, with Mrs. August Rosenberger, organist. Services will be concluded at East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Mathison was born to Mathias and Anna Serena Mathison on Dec. 24, 1901, in Estherville. He was educated in Estherville schools and was married here on Dec. 23, 1947, to Alice Jones. The couple made their home in Estherville and Mr. Mathison was a self-employed painter. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

Mr. Mathison is survived by his wife, Alice; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Dickinson of Waukegon, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one half-brother, Matt; four sisters, Mildred, Anna, Gertrude and Ellen.

Pallbearers will be Larry Anderson, Dean Clark and Robert Wheatley. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, until time of services tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 21, 1972)
