Mrs. Martin Dies at 86
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Reese Chapel for Myra Eva Martin, 86, who died at 6:20 p.m. yesterday in Holy Family Hospital. She had been ill for the past week. Death was attributed to a stroke.She was born May 20, 1877, in Rockford, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hunt Myra Martin received her education in the Rockford schools and in November, 1938 was wed to William J. Martin in Estherville. They lived in the Estherville area for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, four brothers, one sister and a daughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ray [Roy] (Marie) Clabaugh of Estherville, Mrs. Harold (Ina) Lago and Mrs. Pete (Frankie) Truskey, both of Milwaukee; three sons, Eddie Lyle and Roy of Estherville, and Ray of Scottville, Mich.; two brothers, Charles Hunt of Spirit Lake and Frank Hunt of Spencer; three sisters, Lilly Greig of McAllen, Tex., Mrs. Louis Calkins of Milford and Ida Farmer of Spirit Lake; 25 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
The Rev. Kathryn Loutzenhiser will officiate at the services. Burial is to be in Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of services on Thursday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 28, 1964)
