Rites Pending for Chris Martinson
Chris J. Martinson, 68, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, Jan. 14. Services are pending at the Fuhrman Funeral Home at Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 14, 1971)

Funeral Services Set Monday for Chris Martinson
Chris J. Martinson, 67, Estherville, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in his home of a sudden heart attack.

He was born Nov. 4, 1902, at Graettinger, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Martinson. He received his education in the Graettinger and Estherville schools.

On Sept. 4, 1937, he was married to Mildred Peterson at Emmetsburg. They lived in Graettinger and Estherville. Mr. Martinson was a carpenter his whole life.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Lorrena) Shottenkirk, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. William (Opal) Logan, Golden, Colo.; Linda at home; four grandchildren; one brother, Lester Martinson, Graettinger; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Fern) Enright, Wilmont, Minn.; and Mrs. Eddie (Dorothy) Johnson, Mallard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home any time on Sunday until noon on Monday when the casket will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 15, 1971)
