Twin Baby Succumbs to Erysipelas
Randy Rae Marr, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Marr, died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday at his home, 1321 Third avenue south. He died of erysipelas, an acute disease associated with a high fever and a local intense reddish inflammation of the skin.His twin sister, two-month-old Rhonda Renae, was taken to Holy Family hospital yesterday for observation, but her physician stated today that she appears to be unaffected. Randy became slightly ill on Tuesday but his illness was not considered serious. He died suddenly yesterday before a physician could be obtained.
He was born July 21, 1952, in Estherville. Surviving his death are his parents; twin sister, Rhonda; two brothers, Terry Lee, 3, and Craig Allen, 4; and half brother Dennis Eades, 7. He also is survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanson and Mrs. Margaret Marr of Estherville; great grandfather, B.B. Barton of Colorado and now visiting in Estherville; and uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Lennox of Gaylord, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kris of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Spoo of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. Einer Johnson of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mahan of Estherville and Kenneth Natress of Milford.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sternborg funeral home, the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 19, 1952)
