Estherville – Services for Mrs. Roscoe (Julia) Tillea, 88, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. A Legion of Mary rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. and parish rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Julia Ellen (Nell) Morrisey was born Jan. 4, 1896 in Estherville, the daughter of John H. and Mary A. (Griffin) Morrissey. She attended Estherville schools and graduated in 1913. She also attended Cedar Rapids Business College. She worked in the Rock Island offices until her marriage to Roscoe Tillea on Feb. 12, 1920 in Estherville.

Mrs. Tillea was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; the Rosary Society; a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America; a charter member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the World War One Barracks.

She is survived by three sons: John, Washington, D.C.; Ralph, Estherville and Laurence of Clarkston, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Oct. 1, 1950; parents; one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1984)
