Estherville – Services for Lawrence Wycoff, 55, who died Sunday, January 22, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Thomas Topf officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lawrence Dean Wycoff was born on August 11, 1933 in Estherville to Clifford L. and Iva Anna (Swanson) Wycoff. He attended Estherville High School to the 11th grade before entering the family business, Estherville Scrap Iron and Metal Co. He remained self-employed for 37 years until his retirement in 1982. On March 2, 1988 he married Jane Gonzalez in Sioux City. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife Jane of Estherville; their daughter, Leann Wycoff of Estherville; Larry’s children from a previous marriage: Greg Wycoff of Estherville; Steve Wycoff of Jefferson City, Mo.; Barry Wycoff, Doug Wycoff, Margo Sanderson, all of Omaha; and Lorrie Wycoff of Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Luella) Halstead, a brother, Dale Wycoff, both of Estherville; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sharon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1989)
