George Reuland
Superior – George E. Reuland, 80, Superior, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1986 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville, with the Father Thomas Topf officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born March 1, 1986 [1906] at Alta to Michael and Connie (Hemmer) Reuland. He received his education at the Superior School. He married Julia Theesfeld on Oct. 24, 1933 at Sioux City. Following their marriage the couple lived in the Terril and Superior area where he farmed. He retired in 1975. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Julia, Superior; five daughters, Mary Ellen Carter, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nora J. Charles, San Carlos, Calif., Patricia (Mrs. Duane) Heidecker, Indianapolis, Ind., Joyce (Mrs. Don) Thornburg, Estherville, Barbara (Mrs. Roscoe) Rhen, Omaha, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Reuland, San Diego, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Elizabeth Schacherer; brothers, Bert, Frank, Matt and Lawrence and a granddaughter, Jodi Rhen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 11, 1986)
