Estherville – Services for Robert James Reiter Sr., 66, Estherville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, 103 North Ninth Street, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements.
He died Wednesday, April 2, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.
He was born Jan. 13, 1920 to Roy and Elsie (Weigert) Reiter in Palmer and received his education in Pocahontas schools. On Oct. 21, 1940 he was united in marriage to Eileen Nieman at Pocahontas. The family moved to Estherville in 1955 where he operated Bob’s Standard Station until 1961 when he was employed by Golden Sun Feeds, Inc. He retired in 1971. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen, Estherville; six sons, Charles and James, Estherville, Dennis, Toledo, Ohio, Joseph, Wallingford, Mike, Nevada, Robert Jr., Spirit Lake; three daughters, Mary Duhn, Mrs. Rick (Kathy) Duhn, both of Estherville, Mrs. Randy (Lisa) Eisert, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Betty Reiter, Pocahontas, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Berkmeier, Sioux City, Mrs. Richard (Bernadine) Price, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Glenn (Katherine) Christians, Des Moines and Mrs. Roger (Jeanne) Thomas, Sioux City.
