Estherville – Services for Mrs. Walter (Helen) Rasche, 74, Estherville, were held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Father A.O. Grendler officiated. She died Wednesday, July 11, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.

Fuhrman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, where rosaries were prayed at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Helen Pauline Miller was born Oct. 23, 1909 at Pulaski, the daughter of Jess and Helen (Yore) Miller. She attended Granada, Minn. school where she graduated from high school in 1928. On April 11, 1932 she was united in marriage with Walter Rasche at Blue Earth, Minn. The couple farmed in the Granada area then moved to the Ringsted and Estherville area in 1962. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Rasche, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Jessie) Garrelts, Estherville and Mrs. Lester (Louise) Spoo, Bangor, Wis.; one son, Thomas, Fairmont, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Norem, Minneapolis, Minn. and Viola Sorensen, Albert Lea; a brother, Patrick Miller and a sister-in-law Mrs. John Miller, Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Garrelts; parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 14, 1984)
