Estherville – Services for Mrs. Leonard (Rita) Hoffman, 77, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Jan. 20, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home at 103 North 9th Street from 3-9 p.m. Thursday. Legion of Mary Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. and Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m. both at the funeral chapel.

Catherine (Rita) Braun was born Aug. 22, 1908 in Greeley Township, Audubon County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Katie (Nepper) Braun. She was a graduate of Le Mars High School. On Aug. 20, 1935 she was united in marriage with Leonard F. Hoffman at Le Mars. She moved to Estherville in 1935 and has lived here since. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons: Tom Hoffman, Basalt, Colo. and Reggie Hoffman, Algona; Jacqueline Lang, Ames and LaNora Sullivan, Estherville; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Art Braun, Alton; Karl Braun, Le Mars; Paul Braun, North Ridge, Calif.; Phil Nairase, Le Mars, and Jose Alesch, Marcus; two sisters, Leaha Wicklaw, New York, N.Y. and Mrs. Greg (Mary) Kass, Sibley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband who died Jan. 6, 1980, one brother and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 22, 1986)
