Estherville – Services for Amelia Benesh, 78, Estherville, will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with interment in the church cemetery. Father Albert O. Grendler will officiate. She died Saturday [October 16, 1982] at the Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Monday. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday.

Miss Benesh was born Feb. 23, 1904 near Wallingford, the daughter of John and Frances Benesh. She attended country schools and graduated from Estherville High School in 1922. In 1924 she entered nurses training at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital at Ft. Dodge, and graduated from there in 1927. She worked at Dowagiac and Pontiac, Mich., Cheyenne, Wyo. And returned to Estherville and worked at Holy Family Hospital. She retired in 1969.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, 55 Plus Club and Nurses Guild of Iowa.

Survivors include one sister Bessie Cohea, Greeley, Colo. and one sister-in-law Hazel Benesh, Waseca, Minn., nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 18, 1982)
