Graettinger – Marie Kathryn Bartleman, 88, Graettinger, died Friday [November 28, 1980] afternoon at the Emmetsburg Care Center.
Services for Mrs. Bartleman will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Graettinger, with Father Vincent Beacom officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Estherville.
A Rosary will be said at 8 o’clock tonight at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Graettinger. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 o’clock tonight.
The daughter of August and Maggie Koenecke, she was born April 1, 1892 at Blue Island, Ill., and received her education in the Blue Island area. She then moved to the Estherville area with her family and was married to Nate Bartleman in 1910 on a farm near Estherville. They moved to Greenville following their marriage and later owned and operated a barbershop in Graettinger until retiring.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Graettinger, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Graettinger Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Bartleman is survived by one brother, Walter Koenecke, Litchfield, Minn.; and many nieces. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 1, 1980)
