Julia Dominy
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Julia Dominy, 93, were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Father Albert O. Grendler officiated. She died Thursday, June 21, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.

Julia Finn was born Feb. 5, 1891 at Goodell, the daughter of David and Kate (Sullivan) Finn. She received her education in the Goodell Schools and Iowa State Teacher College and taught school for several years in Wright County before her marriage. In Feb., 1913, she was united in marriage with Harry L. (Sam) Dominy at Goodell. They farmed in the Terril area a few years before settling on a farm in Swan Lake Township. Mr. Dominy died in December, 1959.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Leona) McCarville, Ft. Dodge, Jeanne Dominy, Des Moines and Mrs. Dale (Betty) Christiansen, Audubon; two sons, Raymond of Dubuque and Donald of Waverly; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Viola Keppers, Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son Russell; parents; three brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 23, 1984)
