Ray Taylor Dies; Rites Tuesday
Ray Irwin Taylor, 64, died Saturday evening, July 28, 1973, at his home at 1121 13th Avenue N., Estherville.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fuhrman Funeral Home with Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be made in St. Patrick's cemetery, Estherville. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville. Friends may call at any time.
Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 18, 1908, at Tekamah, Neb., to Charles and Cora Taylor. The family moved to Emmetsburg where he received his education. On Jan. 17, 1930, he was married to Gladys Wesser at Emmetsburg.
Mr. Taylor owned a bakery at Dows and a café in Emmetsburg. In 1933 he moved to Estherville where he operated the Taylor Café for many years. He was employed at Stokely-Van Camp in Fairmont for a short time and was recently employed by Golden Sun.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Shirley) McNally and two grandchildren, Joan and Michael, in Florida. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1973)
Mrs. Ed McNally and Joan and Michael of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wesser of Logan attended the funeral of Ray Taylor here. Mrs. McNally remained to visit her mother, Mrs. Ray Taylor. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 1, 1973)
