Elmer Osberg Funeral Set Here Saturday
Funeral services for Elmer Alfred Osberg, 66, who died at 7:45 Tuesday [May 23, 1972] at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reese-Henry Funeral chapel in Estherville.

Mr. Osberg had been ill for some time with cancer.

The Rev. Karl Miller will officiate at the funeral service and burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today and until time of the funeral on Saturday.

Mr. Osberg was born April 11, 1906, in Martin County, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Osberg. He received his education in Martin County and Dunnell schools.

He was married June 2, 1930, to Vera Smith at Estherville. He lived here the rest of his life except for four years when he worked in Portland, Ore. ship yards. He was employed for many years by Rhodes Motor Co. in Estherville.

He was a member of the Christian church, Disciples of Christ.

Surviving are his wife and his father in Estherville; two daughters, Shirley, Mrs. Ralph E. Godsil of Des Moines, and Darlene, Mrs. Donavan Henricksen, Estherville; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold of Fort Dodge and Kenneth of Dunnell; one sister, Mrs. Melvin Stringer, Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his mother and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 25, 1972)
