Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milford for Mary Ellen Ricke, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Hilltop Care Center.

Father Al Grendler will officiate. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Estherville.

Ricke was born Nov. 3, 1922 on a farm in Emmet County to John and Ana Campbell Bosold. Mary married Victor Ricke on Oct. 2, 1946 at St. Patrick’s Church in Estherville. Victor passed away on Nov. 21, 1984.

Mary graduated from Ringsted High School and Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. She worked in offices in Mason City, Estherville and Spirit Lake before retiring in 1990. She worked 23 years in the Accounting Department at Berkley and Company.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Bolgren and her husband Ken of Eau Claire, Wisc. and Margaret “Peggy” Hughes and her husband Scott of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Douglas Ricke and his wife, Barbara of Spirit Lake; six grandchildren, Sara and David Bolgren, Michael and Anne Ricke, and Kira and Victoria Hughes; three sisters, Jean Klingbeil of Estherville, Mildred Dominy of Estherville and Katheryn Wiseman of Estherville; a step grandson, Tony Scott and his wife Teri of Mountain Lake, Minn.; and two step great-grandchildren, Parker and Dakota Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor; a brother Robert, and an infant sister.
