Funeral Rites Held Here for Clayton Lough
Funeral services for Clayton Lough, of Midland, Texas, former Estherville resident, were held Jan. 18 at the First Methodist church here, the Rev. H. Hughes Dill officiating. Burial was in East Side cemetery with an honor guard salute at the graveside. [Died January 8, 1954 in Midland Co., Tx]Mr. Lough was born July 11, 1910, at Olney, Ill. At an early age he moved with his family to a farm west of Ringsted. On March 8, 1943, he entered the air force where he served 2 ½ years. While serving in the air force at Scott Field, Ill., he married Ruth Knobel of Sunbury, Penn.
Surviving his death are his widow; three daughters, Beverly Jo 10, Mary 3 and Dorothy 2; his mother, Mrs. Amos Tomlinson of Estherville; two brothers, Lyle Lough and Edwin Tomlinson, both or Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Summers of Estherville and Mrs. Wilbur Clouse of Graettinger.
Pall bearers were Barney Hassel, Alvin Garrelts, Harold Schlotfelt, and James Omundson, all of Estherville, Paul Hassel of Ringsted and Henry Thiel of Graettinger. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1954)
