Dies From Poison
Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlando Lough Died This Morning
Several Families Severely Ill
Poisoning said to be due to Cream Puffs of Which Those Afflicted Had Partaken
Member of several Estherville families are seriously ill and one death has already occurred as the result of having eaten food containing poisonous matter. It is thought the poisoning was due to some cream puffs of which all those afflicted had partaken.

The eight-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlando Lough died from the effects of the poisoning this morning. Mrs. Lough and her three-year-old son are both seriously ill at this writing (Wednesday afternoon) but their recovery is confidently expected.

Among the others sick are Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wolcott and Mrs. M. W. Wolcott and Mrs. H. Swale. These are all reported out of danger by the attending physician. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1906)

Clarence, the eight month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlando Lough died this morning at ten thirty o’clock from the effects of ptomaine poisoning. Mrs. Lough has been very ill from the effects of impure food partaken some few days ago and in that way the baby was affected. The case is a sad one made the more so through the illness of the father, mother and older child, all ill from the same cause. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1906)

The funeral services for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlando Lough will be held at the Christian church at 3:30 o’clock tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1906)

We learn just before going to press that the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlando Lough died this morning from the effect of the poison imbibed by its mother in the cream puffs eaten Thursday, that sickened the whole family and also that Mrs. Lough is in a precarious condition. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1906)
