Estherville Girl Drowns
Estherville – Sharon Chesley Longman, 25,of San Diego, died March 17. News was received here that she had drowned in California.

Her body will be brought to Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, where funeral arrangements are pending. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Chesley and granddaughter of Mrs. Marie Linn, all of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 19, 1974)

Mrs. Longman Rites Here Saturday
Estherville – Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday here for Mrs. Gerald (Sharon Marie) Longman, 25, who died at 3:32 p.m. March 17 in San Diego from an accidental drowning.

The Rev. Stan Eyberg will officiate at the funeral services, to be held in Estherville Lutheran Church. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. Services were held at 2 p.m. today in Clairemont Mortuary in San Diego, after which her body will be brought to Estherville. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville on Friday.

She was born June 20, 1948, in Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. James Chesley and was graduated from Jackson High School in 1966. She was married to Gerald Longman March 17, 1969 in Jacksonville, Fla. They have lived in San Diego for 2 ½ years.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chesley, Estherville; her grandmother, Mrs. Marie Linn, Estherville; and one brother, Ronald Chesley, in service. She was preceded in death by her grandfather. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 20, 1974)
