Sivert Loe, 71, Dies at Hospital, 25 Year Resident
Sivert Loe, 71, Norway native and carpenter for the Rock Island railroad, died this morning at 5:15 at Holy Family hospital. He had been hospitalized for two weeks.Loe was born April 22, 1879, in Norway, and received his education in that country. He came to the United States in 1898, settling at first in Luverne, Minn., where he followed his carpenter trade.
In 1913, he was married to Elizabeth [Elisabet] Peterson of Luverne, and the couple lived in Luverne until 1925 when they moved to Estherville to live. He has been employed as carpenter by the Rock Island railroad ever since. He attended the Estherville Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Peder Loe and a daughter, Esther Loe, both of Estherville, two grandchildren, and two brothers, Martin Loe of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Ole Loe of Alaska.
