Obituary of Harry A. Lewis
Funeral services were held Friday at Estherville for Harry A. Lewis, 53, of Estherville, former Graettinger resident.

Harry Andrew Lewis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lewis of Scranton, Iowa, as born on Nov. 9, 1902, at Bayard in Guthrie county. Mr. Lewis died at 12:30 a.m. Nov. 7, 1956, at Holy Family hospital here. He had been suffering from a brain tumor since the early part of August of this year.

Mr. Lewis received his education in Greene County. He was united in marriage to Lois Dresback at Jefferson on Aug. 30, 1924. They lived in Guthrie county until the time they moved to the Graettinger community in 1942. In 1952 they moved to Estherville where they have made their home since. Mr. Lewis was last employed by the Hill Packing Company in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Garold of Estherville and Harold Of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Grace) Stigman of Estherville and Mrs. Edmund (Ada Fern) Herke of Emmetsburg and 10 grandchildren.

Also surviving is his mother and father, three brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Claude of Nevada City, Calif., Winfred of Clinton and Gail of Scranton. The sisters are Mrs. Elbert Powers of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Charles Huss of Paton, Mrs. John Pearson of Lawrence, Kan., Mrs. Ruby Plum of Sunflower, Kan., and Mrs. Duane Kiner of Graettinger. He was preceded in death by two infant sisters. (Graettinger, Times, Graettinger, IA, November 15, 1956)
