Heart Attack is Fatal to S. Lilland
Severin Lilland, 73, died suddenly about 8:30 this morning while working with John Tweedt on the Olaf Twedt farm. It is believed that Mr. Lilland suffered a heart attack.Mr. Lilland was born Dec. 4, 1882 [per cemetery records, 1883; per WWI draft records, 1884] at Jewell and had lived in that area until about six years ago when he moved to Estherville. Since coming here he has been making his home with his sister, Mrs. Martin Sampson.
He is survived by one other sister, Mrs. Ed Stanerson of Dolliver and two brothers, Ole of rural Estherville and Henry of Sisler.

Lilland Rites Saturday
Funeral services for Severin Lilland, 71, who died suddenly of a heart attack suffered yesterday morning will be held Saturday. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at Sternborg Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Theodore Maakestad officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery. Friends may call at Sternborg’s from tomorrow morning until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1957)
