Mrs. George Lenz Dies of Heart Attack
Mrs. George Lenz, 64, resident of Estherville for 30 years, died unexpectedly Thursday [September 14, 1967] about 6 p.m., her death attributed to a heart attack.Beulah Irene Barns was born Oct. 11, 1902 [per cemetery records, 1901], to Q. and Libby Barns at Round Lake, Minn. When she was a young girl she moved with her parents to Lake Park where she received her education and grew to womanhood.
She was married Sept. 1, 1920 to George Lenz. The couple was married at Lake Park and lived there until 1937 when they moved to Estherville.
Mrs. Lenz was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. R. C. (Ruth) Cook of Santa Maria, Calif., a granddaughter, Mary Ruth Lee Rappe; a grandson, Jerry Lee, both living in California; one brother, Floyd Barns of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Lola Shriner of Moneta, and Mrs. Glee Bladholm of Marshall, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale.
Funeral services are pending at Fuhrman Funeral Home, pending the arrival here of Mrs. Cook. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 15, 1967)
Services for Mrs. G. Lenz Planned Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. George Lenz, 65, who died of a sudden heart attack Thursday, are to be held Monday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church, Rev. C.R. Buckwalter officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until Monday at noon, at which time the body will be taken to the church.
