Funeral Services Held for Son of Paul Laidig’s
Robert Franklin Laidig, 11 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laidig, of near Wallingford passed away Monday [December 1, 1941] afternoon from an extended illness caused by pneumonia. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Sternborg Funeral home with the Rev. Claude Fausnaugh in charge. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

The child was born January 25, 1941, and had been in good health until recently when he contracted cold and pneumonia developed. He was unable to combat the disease and in spite of all medical help and assistance his little body could not overcome his illness.

Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Darlene and Delores and two brothers, Harley, and Ervin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laidig of Estherville, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jurries, of Dunnell, Minn., grandparents, also survive. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 4, 1941)
