R.B. Krough Dies; Rites Saturday
Ralph Krough, longtime resident of the Maple Hill area, died yesterday at 7:20 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital, his death attributed to a coronary heart attack.

Mr. Krough, operator of a county road maintenance machine, had worked all day yesterday but was not feeling well and had gone to see his physician late in the afternoon. He was admitted to the hospital at 5 o'clock.

Ralph Barlo Krough was born Feb. 18, 1910, to John and Orpha Krough at Tama. The family moved while he was a youngster and he grew up in the Emmetsburg and Mallard areas. He moved to Emmet County in1922.

He was married May 10, 1931, to Gertrude McAffee of Estherville. Mr. and Mrs. Krough had spent their entire married life in the Maple Hill area. He first farmed there and for the last 5 [15?] years had been employed by the county as operator of a road maintenance machine in the Gruver and Dolliver areas.

Mr. Krough was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Donald of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. David (Judy) Westfall of Fort Hood, Tex., Mrs. John (Nancy) L. King of Dolliver, and Ginger at home; six grandchildren; a foster son, Dean Harr of Spencer, and five foster-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Lee of St. Peter, Minn., Ray of Council Bluffs, Fred of Estherville, Earnie of Emmetsburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel White of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Burton (Mildred) Cronk of Ringsted, and Mrs. Delmar (Mary) Olson, of Atlantic, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clive.

Funeral services for Mr. Krough are to be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home any time Friday and until 11 a.m. Saturday, at which time the body will be taken to the church, where friends may call until 11 a.m. Saturday, at which time the body will be taken to the church, where friends may call until time of services.
