Heart Attack Fatal to Local Man
Albert Emil Kroenke, 72, died at 1:20 a.m. this morning at his home in Estherville at 309 Eight avenue north. Mrs. [Mr.] Kroenke, who died of a heart attack, was stricken with a heart ailment in mid-December of last year from which he did not fully recover. A resident of Estherville since 1935, he was an employee of the Hill Packing Co. until a year ago.Born August 10, 1883 [per WWI draft record, August 10, 1882], Mr. Koreneke was married to Anna Kronke on Dec. 24, 1918 at Mankato, Minn. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Estherville. Mr. Kroenke was preceded in death by a son, Walter, March 1, 1953, who was killed in an automobile accident in Nebraska. He is surived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Henry and Edward Kroenke; four daughters, Mrs. Carl Loeschen, Mrs. Dale Richards, Mrs. Harold Johansen, and Mrs. James Woltz, all of Estherville.
Surviving brothers are Jack and Henry Kroenke of St. Paul, Minn. and Fred and Herman Kroenke, St. Clair, Minn. Sisters surviving him are Mrs. Margaret Voetker [?], Truman, Minn., Mrs. Emma Egersdoff, St. Paul, and Mrs. Anna McComb, St. Clair, Minn. Mr. Kroenke had 10 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed, however the funeral will be Monday or Tuesday. Friends of the family may visit the Sternborg Funeral Home tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 26, 1955)
Kroenke Rites Tuesday
The body of Albert Emil Kroenke will lie in state at the Sternborg Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Tuesday, and at the Immanuel Lutheran church until 2:00 p.m. where the Rev. William P. Henline will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 28, 1955)
