Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Kirchner, 87, Estherville, will be 2 pm. Friday at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Neal Armstrong and Val Hauck officiating and burial at the East Side Cemetery. She died at the Good Samaritan Center Tuesday [June 3, 1975] night.

Mrs. Kirchner was born May 11, 1888 at Dows to Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith and was educated in the Estherville public schools. She was married to George Kirchner in Estherville Feb. 22, 1913 and after living in Minnesota four years they moved back to Emmet County and farmed. They moved into Estherville about 30 years ago where she operated a rooming house and collected antiques. She was a life member of the Emmet County Historical Society. Her husband died April 19, 1967.

Survivors include one son, Don, Gruver; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, anytime Thursday and until noon Friday when the body will be taken to lie in state at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 4, 1975)
