C.A. Eder Dies in Montana
Terril Tribune – C.A. Eder, a former resident of this city and county, died at this home at Hardin, Montana, Friday afternoon after an illness of about four weeks. It seems Mr. Eder was first taken sick with bad teeth which developed into tonsilitus and other complications. Mr. Eder and his family left Estherville January, 1910, for their new home in Montana. They had previously to leaving this place lived on a farm in Twelve Mile Lake township for ten years and in this town for four years. Before coming to Emmet county the family lived in Nebraska. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Eder and all but three were present when death claimed the old gentleman.

A daughter, Mrs. E.M. Sharar of this place, had heard from her folks that her father was sick but had no thought that his condition was serious. She was not present when he died.

Mr. Eder was a fine old gentleman and was a quiet unassuming man, but a man of great force of character. The many friends of the family here are grieved to learn of his death and hasten to extend sympathy. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 21, 1912)
