John Blom received word of the death of his son, Ben's wife, at her home in Granada, Minn., Friday after a lingering illness of cancer of the lungs. Owing to the illness of Mrs. Blom he was unable to attend the funeral.

Rites Monday for Mrs. Barbara Blom.
Services for Cedar Township Woman at Catholic Church at 10.

Services for Mrs. Barbara Blom, 52, wife of Ben Blom, who died at her home in Cedar Township Thursday morning [April 9, 1942], will be held Monday [April 13, 1942] at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church at Sherburn. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Estherville.

Mrs. Blom was born April 6, 1890. She had been in failing health about a year and had been at Rochester for examination.

Mr. and Mrs. Blom have lived in Cedar Township about three years. They formally lived in the Ceylon and Sherburn communities.

She is survived by her husband and nine children, as follows: John, Ceylon; Mrs. William Goemann, Truman; Raymond, Fairmont; Mrs. Chris Peterson, Fairmont; Mrs. Martin Johnson, Triumph; Mrs. Art Nielson, California; Benny, Robert and August, Triumph. One child died in infancy.

There are also 11 grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers. (Fairmont Daily Sentinel, Fairmont, MN, April 10, 1942)
