Alma Catherine Woods, the daughter of Michael and Roseanna (Dominy) Woods was born November 18, 1919, in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville at the age of 84 years old.

She received her education in the rural country schools graduating from Gruver High School. Alma then attended St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. She then served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946.

Alma worked as a nurse for over thirty years at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the V.F.W. Auxiliary all of Estherville.

Alma is survived by her sister-in-law, Phyllis Woods of Estherville; six nieces, Nancy, Debbie, Sandy, Susan, Diane Woods and Judy Delgado; three nephews, Bill Woods, Bernard and Bob Reuland and Alma’s friends.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Reuland and Lucille Woods; three brothers, Bernard, John and William Woods; two infant sisters, Marguerite and Louise Woods and an infant brother, Michael Joseph. (MC)
