Augusta Rost
Estherville – Services for Augusta Rost, 94, will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with Father Tom Topf officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. She died Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.

She was born April 24, 1894 at Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest. She moved with her parents from Canada to Chamberlain, S.D. as a young girl and attended Chamberlain schools. In October, 1915 she was united in marriage with Edward J. Rost at Worthington, Minn. Following marriage the couple moved to Estherville where she has continued to live. She has been a resident at Rosewood Manor since 1983.She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two grandsons: James Rost, Ames and Edward Rost, Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren Alison and Daniele Rost, Ames.

She was preceded in death by her husband April 27, 1966; two sons, Alfred and Perl; three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February, 1989)
